Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing

This phased focused approach to therapy uses eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) to help reduce the stress brought on by traumatic memories and assists in reforming thought patterns. EMDR can assist in helping process grief, trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, panic attacks and other mental health issues. 


We use EMDR to help connect thoughts, body sensations and images associated with your mental health back to a more grounded state. EMDR allows your mind to access its own natural healing abilities in a safe and supportive environment. Various events in our lives can overwhelm the mind’s natural abilities to cope; EMDR allows the mind to reevaluate these events and slowly adjust. 


If you’re struggling to process past experiences EMDR could be a good treatment strategy. We will review your history and coping techniques and begin treatment. Over time the work we do together will help those distressing memories fade.
